At Leading Edge, many clients can use HSA, FSA, HRA and other tax advantaged accounts to pay for services if certain IRS requirements are met. This guide outlines eligibility and documentation requirements to ensure a smooth usage and reimbursement process.

Eligibility and Documentation Requirements

Eligible Medical Conditions

HSA/FSA funds can be used for expenses that diagnose, treat, mitigate, or prevent a specific medical condition. Because Leading Edge provides condition-focused care (not general wellness), the services below are typically eligible when documented for a medical purpose.

Important: Leading Edge's concierge model may include an upfront deposit or package price. HSA/FSA dollars can be used when payments are clearly tied to specific medical services (not access or membership fees) therefore a Letter of Medical Necessity is recommended for all services.

We recommend a Letter of Medical Necessity for all of the following treatments and memberships:

General medical care
Primary/integrative visits, diagnostics
Acute COVID-19 treatment visits
Treatment and management of acute COVID-19 symptoms
Long-COVID (PASC) evaluation & treatment
Post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 assessment and care
Post-vaccine syndrome evaluation & treatment
Assessment and treatment of post-vaccination symptoms
Adjunctive cancer-care support
Symptom management, integrative support
Targeted medical interventions
IVs, peptides, ozone, HBOT — when prescribed for a diagnosed condition
Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)
When prescribed for a diagnosed mental/neurologic condition (e.g., PTSD, dysautonomia, long-COVID)

Required Documentation for Approval

Here's what you'll need to ensure that you're able to utilize your HSA/FSA funds at Leading Edge:

Letter of Medical Necessity (Required for Most)
Recommended for most services, strongly required for SSP, some adjunctive cancer-care items, and targeted/novel interventions (we'll prepare this for you)

Detailed Receipts or Invoices
Detailed payment records, including date of service, description of service, provider, and amount paid.

Claim Form (Required for Reimbursement)
Most administrators require their own version of a claim form for reimbursement. We can help you submit this information.
